COPING
Coping to complete your wall.

A coping stone is used on walls to create a top which prevents rainfall from penetrating the wall and also adds a finishing touch. The hard wearing characteristics of our fine grained Yorkshire sandstone make it ideal for walling projects and it will weather naturally over time.
Sawn coping can be made to any width required and is generally supplied in random lengths and 50mm thickness. We can also supply bespoke lengths and thicknesses if required.
Sawn Coping Types:
• Twice weathered - a ridge in the middle and slopes on either side, allowing water to drain off in both directions
• Once weathered - slope in one direction, allowing water to drain one side (Eg. 75mm down to 50mm)
• Dressed edges - uniform textured finish.
• Fettled edges - rougher, natural finish.
• Chamfered - top edge cut at a 45-degree angle, taking away the sharp 90-degree corner angle.
• Half Round Wall Tops - hand crafted in our own quarry. Widths range from 12"-18" as standard.
Please let us know if you would like straight cut 50mm coping or alternatively one of the finishes above. Please also specify if a drip line is required.
An alternative to sawn coping is riven coping, this has a more traditional look as the stone has been hand split, leaving a rougher finish. Riven coping is generally 300mm wide by random lengths. Please note that supply of riven coping is very limited.
